At Hermosillo, significant changes start with small actions. That’s why, as part of World Recycling Day, we held a special day at our Mexicali office to promote a more conscious and sustainable culture inside and outside our workplace.
Giving New Life to Materials
From May 19 to 30, our Corporate Sustainability team organized an internal recycling drive at the Punta Este Corporate Building. This effort collected various types of waste and gave them a second life. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our team members, the campaign was extended for an extra week!
We collected materials such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, aluminum, electronics, and batteries—each carefully sorted to ensure proper recycling and disposal.
Impactful Results
As a result of this collective effort, we gathered:

Fundación Hélice supported the figures, which were calculated using average environmental impact factors from organizations such as SEMARNAT, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the United Nations. Through this exercise, we reaffirm our commitment to environmental care and transparency in our communication about our efforts.
Spaces for Reflection and Learning
In addition to the recycling campaign, we created opportunities for education and dialogue through three public conferences, gathering a total of 179 participants:
- “Challenges and Opportunities in Waste Recovery” by Dr. Sara Ojeda (UABC) explored circular economy concepts and the realities of implementing them in Mexicali.
- “Circular Recycling” with Marco A. Godínez from Dago Recicladora, one of our partner providers, who shared insights and best practices for responsible resource management.
- “Electronic Waste Management” by Fundación Hélice, where we discussed the environmental footprint of our actions and learned about their collection points across Mexicali.
A recurring message stood out in each session: Recycling is more than discarding—it’s revaluing. Properly separating our waste at home is a simple but powerful responsibility that enables the reuse of more materials and significantly reduces landfill contributions.

Looking Forward
The interest and momentum generated by this campaign have inspired us to keep going. Due to the positive response, we will continue collecting paper, cardboard, and plastic year-round.
There’s still work to be done, but we’re moving forward purposefully. We remain committed to actions that contribute to a more sustainable, conscious, and responsible Hermosillo.
Thank you to everyone who participated with care and conviction. Because, yes, every action matters. Together, we can build a cleaner future for all.
